OCCO Meeting with Ohio's Homeland Security Department

Join the OCCO for our next meeting on Wednesday, July 24th at 10am at the CCAO building (209 E State St, Columbus, OH 43215). Our speakers will be Amelia Moore and Violet Ross with the Ohio Homeland Security Department to discuss partnerships with County Officials for future initiatives on the Ohio Critical Infrastructure Data System (OCIDS).  

 

Amelia Moore

Amelia Moore is a dedicated intelligence analyst currently serving Ohio Homeland Security’s Critical Infrastructure Unit. She has been with the Department of Public Safety for a little under two years focusing on analyzing threats to all 16 sectors of critical infrastructure and developing products to enhance public safety. Ms. Moore’s passion for the protection of critical infrastructure drove her to earn a certificate in Infrastructure Protection from Texas A &M Engineering Extension Services. With an educational background from Fairmont State University, Ms. Moore graduated with a double major in National Security and Intelligence and Political Science, complimented by a minor in Spanish. Prior to this position, Ms. Moore gained valuable experience as an intelligence analyst for Fairmont State’s Open-Source Intelligence Exchange and worked as an intern for Senator Rob Portman. Beyond her analytic experience, Ms. Moore brings the disciplined and experience honed during four years of college volleyball into a coaching career, where she currently coaches club volleyball in the Columbus area.

 

Violet Ross

Violet Ross is a public safety intelligence analyst currently working for the Ohio Homeland Security Critical Infrastructure Unit, under the Ohio Department of Public Safety. Ms. Ross graduated from Mercyhurst University with a degree in Intelligence Studies and a minor in Psychology, and she is currently finishing a masters in Criminalistics with Gannon University. Ms. Ross’ primary focus is on matters of criminal and geospatial intelligence as they relate to Ohio’s critical infrastructure. Prior to this position, Ms. Ross served with the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C) as well as acting as a contract analyst for the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA). Beyond her analytic experience, Ms. Ross has a significant interest in the psychological and sociological implications of social media on modern culture, and how those issues tie into national security and counterterrorism efforts.
